Program Background: This degree program is geared toward
technologists and combines traditional doctoral research with an innovative
delivery system, a consortium of universities, and advanced technical
specialization. It is a collaborative program that is administered by
the School of Technology at Indiana State University. Other schools
that participate include Bowling Green State University, Central Connecticut
State University, Central Missouri State University, East Carolina University,
Eastern Michigan University, North Carolina A&T State University,
Texas Southern University, and University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Application Requirements: You must apply to Indiana State University
for admission to this doctoral program. You should have a Bachelor's
degree from a regionally accredited college or university, a minimum
undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum
graduate grade point average of 3.5, two years of appropriate work experience,
and a score of at least 500 on each section of the Graduate Record Examination.
With your application, you should submit five letters of recommendation.
Completion Requirements: You must successfully complete
a minimum of 90 semester hours of graduate study, with a majority of
your coursework at the 600-level. Your program of study will be divided
into five areas: Major Area of Specialization (24-30 semester hours),
Internship (six semester hours), Research Core (27-33 semester hours),
General Technology Core (12-18 semester hours), and Cognate Studies.
On Campus Requirements: You are required to complete
two residencies for this program, but you have two options for fulfilling
this requirement. You can complete two consecutive semesters at Indiana
State University, or you can complete one semester at Indiana State
University and one semester at the home university/consortium university
where you're completing your specialization.
